14,3% increase for the Belorusian insurers in first quarter
In the first quarter of 2010 Belorusian insurance companies have wrote EUR 76.8 million in premiums, an increase by 14.3% comparing to the same period of the previous year, according to local Ministry of Finance.
On the voluntary insurance classes premiums totalized EUR 38.3 million, down by 20.5%, with a total share of 49.9% in the total written premiums. At the same time, mandatory insurance accounted to EUR38.5 million, more by 8.7%.
Total claims paid by the local insurers reached EUR 46 million (+19.3%), and claims ratio represented 60% in comparison to 57.5% a year earlier.
At the same time, insurance companies have paid EUR 9 million in taxes and non budget funds.
