17% decrease for the ALLIANZ-TIRIAC business in Q1, to EUR 68 million
The business of ALLIANZ-TIRIAC from the first quarter of this year amounted to almost EUR 68 million, down by 17% compared to the same period a year earlier, when the company had registered income from underwritings of RON 82 million, announced the insurer on the 1st of June, 2010.
Thus, on the general insurance segment, gross written premiums of ALLIANZ-TIRIAC Asigurari in the first 3 months of 2010 stood at EUR 62 million, up from EUR 76 million that the company had recorded in the corresponding period of 2009.
"Reduction of underwritings value was determined mainly by the decreasing of the business volume generated by the car leasing partner companies", according to the press release issued by the company.
Regarding the life insurance business in Romania, ALLIANZ-TIRIAC has preserved the volume of gross written premiums correspondent to the period January - March, of EUR 6 million.
