2010 - the year of the decisive trial
 After a grim 2009 for all sectors of Romanian economy, 2010 does not seem to bring significant improvements, either. "The major problems will arise in 2010, when only companies that had a correct strategy, both in sales and in underwritings, and in the cost reductions, will be able to come out healthier from the crisis", said Mihail TECAU, President of the Directorate of the company BCR Asigurari.
Regarding the changes that the crisis has imposed upon the insurance management, the BCR Asigurari leader said: "Management of insurance companies in Romania is becoming increasingly aware that only performance (to be read: profit) can support any economic entity.
This performance must be manifested both in the sales force, by increasing professionalism, achieved through a consistent training program, adequated to these times, but also through increased quality of services, where the market had gaps in 2009. I think the second issue will differentiate competitors in 2010. Besides a careful underwriting, we must not forget cost reduction and an appropriate investment program, either".
2010 is, undoubtedly, a year that continues the challenges that the economic crisis brings to insurance companies. About the solutions they have at their disposal to overcome the difficult situation the market is in now, it will be discussed during the six thematic Conferences of FIAR - the International Insurance - Reinsurance Forum 2010.
