A quarter of the clients brought by ERSTE at VIG are Romanians
A quarter of the clients brought to VIENNA Insurance Group, by the
purchase of the ERSTE insurance operations from Central and Eastern
Europe, come from Romania.
This way, out of the total platform of
distribution of the Central and East European insurances divisions,
of 16 million clients and 2,900 agencies, now under the control of
VIG, Romania owns 4 million clients and 562 agencies, according to
the account of the Austrian financial group.
At the end of March, ERSTE announced the selling to VIG of his insurances
operations, from Central and Eastern Europe, for EUR 1.44 billion -
that is EUR 1.2 for every EUR turnover of the respective companies.
The transaction also includes selling the shares of all life and non
life BCR insurance companies from Romania. This way, with the European
Committee's accept of, VIG is about to acquire the majority participation
within BCR Life Insurance and BCR Insurance.
So, we can say that the Romanian VIG family - OMNIASIG, ASIROM, OMNIASIG
Life, BCR Insurances and BCR Life Insurances has the "visa" for
integrating the new members and for rebranding.
In the first trimester of this year, the VIG group subscribed on the
Romanian insurance market a gross amount of premiums of EUR 200.86
million, over 89.1% more then the level reached in the similar period
of time in 2007 - a result that includes, for the first time, ASIROM's
turnover. In the same time, the net profit registered by VIG in Romania
in the first three months is situated at EUR 2.7 million, with a growth
of 102.9%.
