AIG Life has changed its name to ALICO
The insurer AIG Life, controlled by the life insurance subsidiary of the U.S. group AIG, ALICO (American Life Insurance Company), took the name of the majority shareholder. Thus, AIG Life announced the change of the company's name into ALICO Asigurari Romania, starting December 2, 2009.
All other identifying elements of the society have remained unchanged, according to insurer's representatives.
The name change process currently runs in all life insurance subsidiaries of AIG which not yet have the name of ALICO.
AIG Life is the third company on the life insurance market in Romania, after the first nine months of 2009, according to estimates of INSURANCE Profile, with underwritings of about EUR 30 million. ALICO is one of the largest life insurers in the world, present in 54 countries, with 19 million customers and over 40,000 agents and partners, having assent under management of over USD 89 million worth.
