ASIROM aims an over 20% increase of general insurance underwritings by the end of the year
ASIROM's estimated results for the end of the year aim a 20% increase of
underwritings on general insurance, while life insurance is waiting to
return to the previous year's level.
"Compared to 2010, certainly in terms of general insurance we will keep increasing. Compared to the previous year, we will probably have an increase of over 20%. On life insurance, in the first half of this year, we had a slight decrease compared to the same period in 2010, but by launching new products we hope to reduce the decrease in revenues", says Mariana DIACONESCU, President, ASIROM.
In terms of profit growth, Mariana DIACONESCU pointed out that this can be achieved only by increasing income, sales respectively, and by reducing costs. "In the coming years we will continue to pursue market share growth, both in general insurance, as well as in life insurance. As for the other side, of decreasing costs, I want to mention that, since 2009, ASIROM has been restructuring both its network, as well as all organizational processes, with the very clear target of decreasing costs. Already in 2010 the final financial result of the year has shown a substantial increase in company profits. We hope to maintain this pace this year, too", said the President of ASIROM.
ASIROM ended the first half of this year with a 30.2% increase in business, up to a total of RON 368.6 million (EUR 88.2 million). Gross written premiums on non-life amounted to RON 324.4 million, registering a 37.3% advance, due to doubling, up to RON 197 million, of the underwritings on the MTPL segment, which in 1H/2010 had represented a little over RON 100 million.
