ASTRA Asigurari's profit climbs up to RON 4.17 million
 ASTRA Asigurari has posted a net profit of RON 4.17 million in the first 9 months of 2009, as compared to the value recorded in the same period last year which amounted to RON 1.3 million.
The volume of total gross written premiums (life and non-life) registered by the company after the first 9 months of 2009 went up to RON 611.38 million, out of which RON 604.16 million represents the volume of gross written premiums in general insurance, up 22% compared to the first three quarters of 2008.
"The targets which we have set on long-term are to maintain our position among the Top 3 companies on the market, to strengthen the leadership position in the aviation, maritime and property insurance segments, to increase the professionalization of the sales network and to increase the quality of services provided to the insured'', said Radu MUSTATEA, President of the Board, ASTRA Asigurari.
On classes, in the first 9 months of 2009, ASTRA Asigurari registered the largest increases in property insurance, of 235%, thus gaining the top position of this market. Meanwhile, underwritings of RON 9.6 million have been sold for CASCO Aviation, up 36%.
Claims paid by the company in Q3/2009 increased 16% compared to Q3/2008, from RON 201 million in 2008, to RON 232 million in 2009.
The largest share of claims was that of the ones arising from the general insurance business.
