ASTRA-UNIQA counts on a territorial expansion
 The insurance company ASTRA-UNIQA intends to expand its network. The insurer plans to open six new agencies and branches in Craiova, Galati, Falticeni, Popesti Leordeni si Targu Jiu.
The decision will be made on the 6th of October at the General Shareholders Meeting, according to the announcement from the Bucharest Stock Exchange site. ASTRA-UNIQA had a RON 2.82 million profit after the first semester, maintaining the ascending trend of the year.
For the first half of 2008, the company's total gross written premiums (life and non-life) rose up to RON 253.6 million. Subscriptions in the non-life segment reached RON 51.33 million, growing by 34% compared to S1 2007.
CASCO insurance held the most significant share of the portfolio, with premiums of RON 106.65 million - growing by 67.77% in comparison to S1 2007.
Claims paid by the insurer increased in S1 2008 by 89.09%, compared to the same period of last year.
In the first half of 2008, the company continued to develop its property segment by promoting CASASIGURA and CASASIGURAPLUS, registering significant increases.
