ASTRA-UNIQA rose by 23% in 2007
The Romanian insurance company ASTRA-UNIQA has registered, in 2007, a total amount
of gross written premiums of RON 374 million, 23% more than the previous year.
According to the company's press release, the non-life underwritings represented
about RON 367.08 million, from which Motor Hull has RON 135.23 million, about
113% more in comparison to 2006.
The non-life insurance segment recorded a significant growth in 2007 for aviation
insurance, of 104.8%, rising up from RON 6.7 million in 2006 to RON 13.72 million
in 2007. This growth was due to the gain of some important aviation clients within
auctions.
The marine insurance activity was also very important during the analyzed period,
reaching RON 10.36 million, 16% more as compared to the previous year.
Regarding the property class, the total amount of underwritings grew up 62.17%
compared to 2006, reaching RON 20.85 million.
Also, MTPL insurance registered an amount of gross written premiums of RON 155.79
million.
During the reported period, the amount of paid claims for non-life insurance
increased by 38%, up to RON 169.84 million.
At the same time, life insurance segment reported also a significant evolution,
333% up compared to 2006, reaching RON 6.97 million, as a result of launching
new products and developing the activity of this department.
