Anton CABA, ABAR: "Brokers want to change the reporting deadlines"
 Several brokerage companies in Moldova have been fined by the National Commission of Financial Markets (NCFM), because they were late with the submission of the quarterly report on the activity of insurance mediation: "Although some collaborators from the General Surveillance Direction assured us that we will not be fined, finally, we received fines", commented the situation, exclusively for xprimm.md, Anton CABA, President of the Insurance-Reinsurance Brokers Association (ABAR).
Last week was a busy one for insurance brokers in Moldova. Companies members of the association and others, that are not yet part of the organization, have met to discuss modifications that are required in the report on the basis activity of insurance and reinsurance brokers.
"We came to ask the supervisory authority to change the due date for the quarterly and annual reports to be submitted. We also believe it is necessary to make changes to several chapters of this report. Now we are in the process of working on them, at the current stage being about to change the content of quarterly reports submitted by brokers", said Anton CABA.
Also, the young association of insurance brokers in Moldova reached nine members, after HERMINA company has also joined it.
"By the end of 2010, ABAR will have at least 12 members. Many of those present at the meeting were eager to join the association. Monthly, new brokers are licensed, which means there are good perspectives for this market", added the President of ABAR.
The association plans to organize a new meeting in December, where its members will draw the "prerogatives for next year. There is a lot to be done, but all that shall be decided at this meeting", concluded Anton CABA.
ABAR was created in 2009 and its main attributions are promoting insurance products among the population, as well as increasing the quality of the relationship between insurance brokers, insurers and authorities. Other member companies of the association are COVERINS, AV Broker, EXTRA-ASIG, DUVISTAR, ANAVIMAX Broker de Asigurare de Viata, AUTOBIN Grup, OMNIS and CENTRASIG.
