BELORUSSIA: The statute of emerging economy protects us from the crisis, but the motor segment becomes an issue
"The market is at an early stage, therefore the effects of the financial crisis were hardly felt, but we still have the major issue of the motor insurance, dominant in terms of market share", Irina MERZLYAKOVA, General Manager of the Belorussia Insurers' Association explained.
In Belorussia, the claim rate for the motor segment rose continuously, reaching now almost 100%. This generated a change in the companies' pricing policy.
