Bulgaria's general insurance market up 22.7% to EUR 433.5 million
Bulgaria's general insurance market rose by 22.7% in the first seven months to BGN 847.7 million (EUR 433.5 million) on the year, said the country's financial regulator, according to dnevnik.bg.
The country's insurance market is dominated by car insurance policies, which generated 69.4% of the total premiums, standing at EUR 201,6 million, said the Financial Supervision Commission.
The life insurance segment posted a 28% rise to over EUR 154,7 million. Moreover, insurers' premiums from voluntary health insurance policies rose with 10.7% to EUR 9,5 million as compared to the respective period last year.
