CHARTIS, the new name of AIG Romania

AIG Romania has changed its name to CHARTIS Romania, the brand under which AIG Europe operates since July 2009 - company that runs business in Romania under the right of establishment. So, last week, the Insurance Supervisory Commission approved the company's name change, which is registered with the new name in the Register of insurers on the site of the regulatory authority.

Along with the transformation from subsidiary to branch, AIG Romania has started a rebranding process whose completion is scheduled for early this year.

According to the statements of the General Manager of the company, Mihnea TOBESCU, the location, the internal structure, the offered products will remain unchanged and, at personnel level, there will not be operated any changes.

With this transformation, AIG Romania will come out of the scope of surveillance of the ISC and will enter under the influence of ACAM, the supervisory authority from France, where CHARTIS Europe has its headquarters.

AIG Romania ended the first three quarters of this year with business of EUR 20 million and a market share of 1.3%, according to INSURANCE Profile estimates.
