Capitalization of EUR 550 million in 2007
Insurance companies in Romania realized share capital rises of over EUR
150 million during 2007.
"Over a half of the Romanian insurance companies operated share capital
increase processes, the new capital brought in 2007 exceeding EUR 150 million.
Taking into consideration the evolution posted in the first months of 2008,
this year appears to be as effervescent as 2007 from this point of view",
Angela TONCESCU, President of the Insurance Supervisory Commission
declared.
Among the companies that have increased their share capital in 2007 we
mention ARDAF, ASIBAN, ASIROM, ASITRANS, BCR Asigurari, BT Asigurari, CLAL
Asigurari, INTERAMERICAN, KD Life, OTP Garancia and OMNIASIG Life.
Also, ASIROM, ASITRANS-EUROINS, BT Asigurari and OMNIASIG have risen their
share capital in the first months of 2008, while ARDAF operated a capitalization
decrease of over 61%.
