Commissions in the Parliament approve household insurance law project
 The law project regarding compulsory household insurance entered the debate in the Deputy's Chamber, after it got passed by the Commission for Economy, Privatization and Reform last week.
If it will be adopted, the law would become effective by the end of the first half of 2009.
The law was adopted by the Government in August 2007 and it was passed on to the Parliament for debate. In November 2007 it was approved by the Senate, in order to be further discussed in the Deputy's Chamber.
According to the regulations in the text, the insurance policy will cover three risk categories specific for Romania: earthquake, flood and landslide. The insurance premium will be between 10 and 20 EUR, depending on the type of the construction.
