EUROINS Romania: Business increased by 1.5% in the 1st semester
EUROINS Romania ended the 1st half of 2010 with a 1.5% business
increase. Therefore, the company's underwritings reached EUR 42.3
million, in comparison with EUR 41.6% million in the first six months of
2009. Amid the 2010 strategy, focused on portfolio diversification, the
MTPL share decreased from 89.3% to less than 87% of the total
underwritings, after this line's underwritings volume was multiplied by
four in the 1st semester of 2009.
"We also relied on a growing share of motor hull insurance in our portfolio from 8.1% to 9.5%, with an intensive development of the property insurance line. Thus, this type of insurance underwritings grew by 92% during the analyzed period, especially because of individual customers", said Iulius Alin BUCSA, EUROINS Romania General Manager.
Also, an increase of 63% was recorded on the liability insurance segment. Regarding the compensations volume, EUROINS Romania has paid claims in the first half amounted to EUR 23.6 million, up from just EUR 16.3 million in the same period last year. The increase in claims volume is due mainly "to the improvement of the payments flow made to MTPL clients, which demonstrates more than anything, the effort made towards improving the quality of services we offer", declared the General Director of EUROINS Romania.
"The results so far are more than encouraging, given the current macroeconomic climate and trends that are manifested in the insurance industry", has stressed Iulius Alin BUCSA. In national currency, the gross written premiums that company recorded were constant in the examined period, in the context of a profile market decline.
