FATA Asigurari has doubled its underwritings volume
FATA Asigurari, GENERALI group's member, registered in the first nine months of this year, a RON 35.62 million (EUR 9.79 million) gross written premiums volume, rising with 112.68%, compared to the same period of last year. "Our primary objective is to close this year with a positive financial result. As far as the underwritings are concerned, the target is a value of EUR 12.5 million", Fanel PLOPEANU, General Manager, FATA Asigurari, has stated.
After the insurance classes, the CASCO underwritings have the most significant weight in the insurer's portfolio, over 58%, this type of insurance generating a RON 20.84 million (EUR 5.73 million) gross written premiums volume. During the analyzed period of time, the CASCO insurance underwritings volume grew more than three times (more than 367%). Also, the claims paid by FATA Asigurari for this kind of policies totalized RON 10.21 million (EUR 2.80 million), representing about 47.98% from the total claims initialed and paid by the insurer (RON 21.28 million, meaning about EUR 5.85 million).
The agricultural insurance class was, in the first nine months of 2008, another important component for FATA Asigurari's activity, this type of policies representing 34.88% from the company's business (RON 12.42 million - EUR 3.41 million). Also, the claims paid by the insurer on this line of business totalized RON 10.76 million (EUR 2.96 million) - meaning more than 50.57% from their total value. In the earlier mentioned period, FATA Asigurari emitted 23,756 insurance policies, from which 13,843 were claims in properties, 7,353 on CASCO, 1,359 on fires and natural catastrophes and 1,084 on accidents and sickness.
The company FATA Asigurari, the ex-named Asigurari GLOBAL, was taken in 2006 by the Italian group GENERALI's agricultural insurance division - FATA Assicurazioni. The insurer started its business in Romania as an agricultural specialized company and later on it expanded its activity domain.
