Floods cost ASTRA-UNIQA over EUR 1 million
As a result of the floods in Moldova and Transilvania, ASTRA-UNIQA registered
55 cases of partially or totally destroyed homes, with a total value surpassing
EUR 1 million.
The specialists of ASTRA-UNIQA reached the damaged areas to evaluate the losses
and to speed up the compensation process, so the owners will be restored in
their initial state.
"A large area in Romania has a high degree of vulnerability towards extreme
natural phenomenon and that determined us to develop new types of insurance that
are adapted to all social categories with all their needs. During the last week,
Moldova and Transilvania were affected by heavy rainfall. Many homes were flooded
or even destroyed by water, leaving the families homeless. We support the families
by offering them compensation in the shortest time possible", a press release
from the company stated.
ASTRA insurance was founded in 1991. The major shareholders of the company
are TNG - The Nova Group, one of the biggest Romanian holdings and the Austrian
insurance group UNIQA.
