GENERALI Asigurari - a 50% growth on the life segment
GENERALI Asigurari recorded a total volume of underwritings of RON 318.9 million, up 13.5% compared to the same period of 2007 (RON 281 million), in the context of the 50% advance of gross written premiums in the life insurance class, up to RON 63.7 million.
In the life insurance portfolio of GENERALI Asigurari, the individual insurance owns a share of 80%, the group insurance representing the remaining 20%. Regarding the life insurance with an investment component, the increase from January to September 2007 was of 242%, therefore the volume of underwritings in this class reached RON 10.8 million.
"The results recorded in the first nine months of the year confirm the strong position of GENERALI Asigurari on the Romanian market. We are focused, on medium and long term, on a healthy and certain growth, encouraged by the improving quality of offered services and by maintaining a balanced portfolio between corporate and retail clients", Maria KOVAROVA, General Director of GENERALI Asigurari, said.
General insurance grew by 7%, up to RON 255.1 million in the first three quarters of the year, the company announced. The most sold types of insurance, in this segment, were: motor hull insurance (RON 147.8 million), MTPL (RON 31.3 million) and house insurance (RON 24.9 million), where it was recorded a 55% growth compared to the same period a year earlier.
The GENERALI Group grew in the first nine months with 6.6%, reaching EUR 51.7 billion, with performances on both the life insurance segment (EUR 35.2 billion, up 7.5%), as well as on the general insurance one (EUR 16.4 billion, up 4.9%).
