MEDICOVER invests EUR 50 million in a private hospital
The company MEDICOVER has recently signed the acquisition documents of the land on which the MEDICOVER Hospital will be built in Bucharest. This initiative, with a major role in the company's business plan, underlines its determination to further develop more and more efficient healthcare services.
The building of the future MEDICOVER hospital is an important step in the development of the company, which undertakes a project of great scale nationwide: a center larger than the already existing ones in Bucharest, in a building designed and built especially for this purpose. The objective will meet the most modern functional space planning standards and will have the medical equipment to meet the high-level quality demands.
"This acquisition represents the evidence of the long term interest of our investors for the development of MEDICOVER in Romania. After opening the hospital in Warsaw - experience from which we have learned a lot -, this is the second large scale project which MEDICOVER starts in this period. Looking ahead, I know that MEDICOVER Hospital will become a place where we will demonstrate that high-performance medicine can be made in Romania in a private system, too; a hospital that will combine the competence of the medical staff with the adequate equipment and organization, so that patients can resolve their health problems in optimal conditions", said Marina OTELEA, General Manager, MEDICOVER.
The future MEDICOVER Hospital is an investment estimated at EUR 50 million, a figure relevant for the Swedish group's motivation to strengthen its business strategy in Romania. MEDICOVER is the leader of private healthcare services in Central and Eastern Europe. 6,000 companies and 400,000 people benefit from the services of the company in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, Ukraine and Estonia. In Romania, MEDICOVER takes care of the health of over 70,000 customers, from 1,500 companies. Its centers are located in Bucharest, Cluj Napoca, Constanta, Focsani, Iasi, Ploiesti and Timisoara. The partners' network consists of over 140 clinics all over the country. MEDICOVER clients benefit of medical care from a team of over 450 doctors and nurses.
