MUNICH Re sustains fiscal union and a common budgetary policy in EU
MUNICH Re sustains the introduction of fiscal union and a common budgetary policy at EU level, as a solution to the current macroeconomic situation, caused by the sovereign debt crisis, that threatens to destabilize the entire continent.
"We need a strong and stable bond market, because a significant share of our investments is made in this type of financial instruments", said Ludger ARNOLDUSSEN, Member of the Board of MUNICH Re, during the Baden-Baden Meetings.
According to reinsurer's representative, the current economic environment is very difficult for insurance and reinsurance companies, a problem whose solution is extremely urgent being that of inflation control.
"We need a sustainable solution for the sovereign debt crisis. We believe that governments should find a long-term solution, which may involve changing the Maastricht Treaty", said ARNOLDUSSEN.
