PORSCHE Asigurari targets leading the CASCO insurance market in Romania
 PORSCHE Asigurari, PORSCHE Versicherungs AG Salzburg's Romanian branch, officially entered the market on Wednesday, having as primary target to gain the leading position on the local CASCO insurance market. The company, which closes the circle of integrated services offered by PORSCHE Finance Group to the holding's customers, has the long-term purpose of insuring 30% of the cars financed by PORSCHE Romania. Therefore, the insurer targets to fill 6,000 policies in 2009.
The company initially offers a full-CASCO insurance product only for the new cars bought in leasing through the group's companies, PORSCHE Leasing and PORSCHE Mobility, having the possibility for the insurance contract to be made directly in the showroom.
The policy offers unlimited coverage in Europe, without supplementary premiums, no matter the number of accidents and the company which provides the MTPL insurance. Also, the maximum amount insured is EUR 150,000 for which PORSCHE Asigurari offers the standard product and the premium quota will be 4.8%-5% of the car's value, according to Alexander NEKOLAR, CFO, PORSCHE Finance Group.
At the same time, PORSCHE Asigurari's CASCO product also benefits of the advantage of a progressive deductible, which is not paid when the responsible is a third person having a valid MTPL insurance. The insured pays nothing at the first claim in one insurance year, but after this event, the deductible grows progressively.
"Along with this launch, we introduce on the Romanian insurance market a new concept, through which we encourage the automobile possessor to be more responsible with his car and with the other traffic participants. We are talking about the progressive deductible, and the product we offer is viable and equitable, the claims counts and the deductible apply starting at zero every contract year", Kurt LEITNER, CEO, PORSCHE Finance Group has explained.
The company is offering its clients non-stop road assistance, and the repairs counter value will be accounted directly to PORSCHE Group's auto services.
In the future, the company will extend its insurance services for the cars bought through motor credits from PORSCHE Bank, for second-hand cars and also for the cars bought with cash.
"Our integrated services beneficiaries are PORSCHE Finance Group's clients. We offer them a complex services package, which covers all their needs, full consultancy, good prices and well adjusted to the Romanian motor insurance market, as well as a fast and non-bureaucratic claims accounting", Brent VALMAR, General Manager, PORSCHE Romania, has stated.
PORSCHE Finance Group's investment for developing PORSCHE Salzburg's insurance branch in Romania rose to EUR 8.5 million, which covered building a new headquarters with an innovative IT structure.
"I feel this is an extremely right moment to enter the Romanian motor insurance market. Even if it is considered to be the most unprofitable class, Romania has an ascending tendency on this segment. I hope that the rest of the groups which activate here in this field will modify their prices as well", Joseph REICH, Member of Management, PORSCHE Versicherungs.
In the first nine months of this year, PORSCHE Finance Group financed about 15,000 cars, which represents 33% of the total cars sold by PORSCHE Romania. The group finances the holding's marks - Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda, Audi, Porsche -, operates on the Romanian market since 1999 and has five companies: PORSCHE Leasing, PORSCHE Bank, PORSCHE Broker de Asigurare, PORSCHE Mobility and the new PORSCHE Asigurari.
