Plus EUR 2.1 million to the capital of EUREKO Asigurari
The Dutch group EUREKO increased the share capital of EUREKO Asigurari with EUR 2.1 million (RON 8.95 million), according to the September 2009 decision of the insurer, as published last week in the Official Gazette. The capital contribution was made through the issuance of nearly 9 million new shares with a nominal value of RON 1, the value of the capital of the company reaching RON 162.13 million.
In September last year, EUREKO Asigurari received another capital injection from the Dutch, of EUR 12.6 million (RON 53.07 million), after which the company's capital raised to EUR 36.3 million (RON 153.2 million). The investment had been announced in July 2009, when EUREKO said it would make a capital increase of EUR 25 million, to support the development of insurance and pensions subsidiaries in Romania. Thus, an increase of EUR 12.6 million was allocated for the insurance segment and another one, of EUR 12.4 million - for the private pensions one.
The Dutch group is present on the Romanian market through EUREKO Asigurari and EUREKO - Society of Private Pensions Funds Management. According to statements of company officials, EUREKO's expanding strategy is combining the growth through acquisitions with the organic evolution, by expanding existing operations and by developing distribution capacity.
