Profit of EUR 4.4 million for the Moldavian insurers
The profit accumulated by the insurance market players in The Republic of Moldova in the first six months stretched up to 73.25 billion (4.37 mil. EUR), which translates into a nominal evolution in Moldavian Lei of up to 25% when compared to the 1st half of 2009 (in 1st half of 2009, the gross profit numbered MDL 58.53 million, the equivalent of EUR 4.01 million).
The accounted losses of the insurers amounted to MDL 5.76 million (EUR 0. 34 million), in nominal evolution in the Moldavian currency of up to 74.61%.
Thus, the resulting compound of the "profit and loss account" for the insurers market was MDL 67.49 million MDL (EUR 4.02 million). In the 1st half of 2009, it was valued at MDL 55.23 million (EUR 3.79 million).
In the 1st half of the current year, a number of 17 insurance companies have accounted for profit. In this sense, the "champion companies" have been SIGUR-ASIGUR, which amounted to 36.8% out the total insurance market, MOLDASIG (28.7%) and VICTORIA Asigurari (9.43%).
Just the same, 7 insurers accounted losses, the most consistent of which belong to DONARIS Group and MOLDAVA-ASROVAZ.
Last but not least, compared to the 1st half of 2009, in the 1st half of 2010 three companies have registered profit after a year of losses: EXIM-ASINT, VITORIASIG and ARTAS.
On the other hand, if in the 1st half of 2009 the companies EDICT, GARANT, GARANTIE and MOLDOVA ASTROVAZ were registering profit, in the 1st half of 2010 they have turned in the red.
