RON 9.2 million profit for UNIQA Asigurari, at nine months
 The financial results of UNIQA Asigurari, in the first three quarters of this year, have continued their positive evolution, so that the company obtained a net profit of RON 9.2 million, compared with a loss of RON 18.7 million, registered in 3Q/2008.
The insurer's business in the first nine months of 2009 amounted to RON 368 million, the same level as in September 2008, and the number of insurance contracts concluded in the first nine months of the year was 447,236.
Motor Hull insurance was the main line of business for UNIQA Asigurari, with a contribution of 55% to the company's portfolio. Gross written premiums on this segment amounted to RON 201.2 million.
In the same period, UNIQA Asigurari paid claims worth RON 300.6 million, 4.9% less compared to the first three quarters of 2008.
"UNIQA Asigurari continued, in the third quarter of this year, the development of the projects of integration and alignment to the UNIQA Group standards, begun since the takeover of the company", the company representatives have said.
For this year, UNIQA Asigurari has set as objective the portfolio rebalancing, by reducing the share of motor insurance and by encouraging other classes of insurance, to the detriment of the market share growth.
