Romanian insurers head towards EU
Six Romanian insurers intend to extend their activity in other European Union member states. Following the model of notification of the supervisory authorities in these states, AIG Life Romania, AIG Romania, ASITO Kapital, CITY Insurance, EUROINS and OMNIASIG shown interest in operating outside Romania.
The target states for these companies are: Poland, Bulgaria and Greece (AIG Life), all EU member states (AIG Romania, OMNIASIG), Hungary (ASITRANS-EUROINS), Italy (CITY Insurance and 12 EU member states (ASITO Kapital).
Regarding the insurance classes which the six companies intend to operate, we can pass in review the following: accidents insurance, motor insurance, goods in transit insurance, fire and allied perils insurance, other property insurance, financial loss insurance and assistance of the persons in difficulty insurance. Also, one of the companies will write different types of life insurance.
