Russian Insurers Hold Half of the Positions in the Top-10 Non-Life Insurance List
The Russia-based insurance companies hold half of the positions in
the 2007 top-ten list of non-life insurers from Central and Eastern
Europe (CEE) and the former USSR, as set out in analytical report "TOP-Insurer.
Insurance Markets and Insurance Groups in CEE and Former USSR" published
by Russian Polis - Information Group in September.
The ROSGOSSTRAKH Group of companies ranks second, having written EUR
1.475 billion in non-life premiums. The third best is INGOSSTRAKH with
a EUR 1.003 billion premium income. The fifth position belongs to RESO-Garantia
whose premium income amounted to EUR 912.162 million. SOGAZ with a
EUR 846.178 million income ranked sixth. The ninth best is ROSNO, which
received a EUR 659.550 million premium income in 2007.
"Compared to 2006, INGOSSTRAKH improved its positions and replaced
CESKA POJISTOVNA; RESO-Garantia moved up from the seventh to the fifth
position
and ROSNO - from the tenth to the ninth place. The SOGAZ group
retained its positions. By their premium income growth rates, the Russian
companies compare favorably with the foreign insurers present in the
TOP-500 list," the analytical office of Russian Polis notes.
TOP-Insurer is an analytical report providing a detailed analysis of
the insurance industry in CEE and the former USSR, a region encompassing
almost half a billion people. Utilising only official and complete
information, nearly 1800 companies from 30 countries formed the statistical
framework for the research.
TOP-Insurer is comprised of two analytical sections: an analysis of
the region's national markets and the financial results of 50
major transnational groups in the region. Moreover, the report includes
the lists of the TOP-300 major life insurers and TOP-500 major non-life
insurers
