SCOR wants more - some reinsurers are demanding higher prices
Contrary to the view among brokers ans some reinsurers that renewal rates will be stable or soften, SCOR intends to push for "resonable" premium increases from its clients, according to SCOR's Victor PEIGNET. "We present it by saying that our margins have not been sufficient", said PEIGNET, SCOR's global property and casualty chief executive, during remarks at Guy CARPENTER's Baden-Baden Reinsurance Symposium on Sunday. Yields are lower today and the underlying risk has deteriorated, he said. "Overall, we are facing a picture that is worse than it was last year - hence, our request for a reasonable increase that is totally differentiated from one client to another", PEIGNET said.
