The Top insurance companies from the Republic of Moldova in the first nine months of 2010
MOLDASIG, ASITO and GRAWE CARAT are the first three insurance companies in the Republic of Moldova after the first nine months of the current year. With an underwritings volume of EUR 12.42 million, MOLDASIG kept its leading position, with a market share of 30%. The second position belongs to ASITO, with a nominal evolution in EUR of 1.7% (from EUR 9 million in the first nine months of 2009 to EUR 9.18 million in the same period of 2010). GRAWE CARAT marked an underwritings growth of 15.3% (in EUR), that lead to an increase in market share, from 10% in January - September 2009, to 11% in the same period of 2010.
Therefore, the cumulated volume of the three insurance companies goes up to EUR 8.7 million, representing 63% of the total insurance market. If we take into consideration the first 10 companies, they underwrote in the analyzed period 88.72% of the market's total. In 2009, the same 10 companies accomplished 88.71%.
Considering only the Top 10 insurance companies, EUROASIG (no. 7) registered a spectacular growth of underwritings, in EUR (over 163%), the insurer's market share increasing from 1.35% in the first nine months of 2009 to 3.38% in the first nine months of 2010.
"This evolution is due to the close relationship our old partners, to the territorial expansion, and also to the development of the relationship with insurance brokers. It is obvious that the highest influence came from the motor segment, mainly Motor Hull, this being a particularity of the entire market", mentioned Ion LACATUS, General Manager, EUROASIG.
At the opposite end, we have MOLDOVA-ASTROVAZ (no. 8) that recorded the biggest decrease, of almost 22% (in EUR).
In the claims chapter, MOLDASIG, ASITO and DONARIS GROUP (in this particular order) paid the largest sums, totaling EUR 8.04 million, representing 70.3% of the entire claims volume on the market in the Republic of Moldova (EUR 11.43 million).
At the end of September, the Moldavian market amounted to EUR 41.44 million, only 5.2% belonging to the life insurance segment.
