The motor insurance have exceeded 1.25 billion EUR
EUR 1.25 billion (RON 4.17 billion) represents the value of the underwritings
achieved from motor insurance (CASCO, MTPL and Green Card) in the financial
year 2007 by the insurance companies that activate on this specific market.
The figure represents according to the INSURANCE Profile Review, over 57.22%
of the total underwritings achieved on the Romanian insurance market in the
before-mentioned period. By comparison with the results registered for this
type of insurance in the similar period of the previous year, the market registered
a nominal growth in European currency of 42.40%, which represents a real growth
in RON of about 26 percents.
A thing to notice is the fact that in 2007, the concentration of the market
between the first competitor show that over 93% of the total of the gross premium
underwriting on the motor insurance segment are owned by the first 10 profile
companies. At the same time, the claims on this insurance segment have risen
in 2007 to about EUR 750.89 million (LEI 2.50 billion).
The leader of the motor insurance market is ALLIANZ-TIRIAC, with a market share
of about 21% of the fore-mentioned insurance market and a nominal growth in
EUR of almost 22% by comparison with the previous year. OMNIASIG takes the second
place in the top, with an impressive growth in EURO of over 92% and a market
share of 15.51 percents, while, according to the estimations made by the INSURANCE
Profile Review, ASIROM, with underwritings on this insurance class of about
EUR 123.37 million (LEI 411.71 million), which represents an increase of the
motor insurance premiums by 5% by comparison with the previous year and, owns
9.86% from this segment, takes the company on the third place on this specific
market.
