Transaction within CARPATICA Group
CARPATICA Commercial Bank (BCC) has sold, in March, to the company ATLASSIB, a pack of shares representing 8.96% of the share capital of insurer CARPATICA Asig. Following this transaction between the two companies both controlled by businessman Ilie CARABULEA, whose value amounted to about RON 1.9 million, ATLASSIB stake in the insurance company increased from 83.46% to 92.42%.
The almost 1.9 million shares were transferred at the nominal value of shares, respectively, 1 RON/title. BCC representatives announced that the bank would liquidate its stakes in the companies where it was a shareholder in order to focus on the core business, the banking one. According to the annual report, BCC owns stakes in SSIF CARPATICA Invest, ROMTICKET, CARPATICA Asset Management and IMOBILIAR Invest.
Ilie CARABULEA is the majority shareholder of the bank CARPATICA, with a stake of 36.45% of the share capital, him also being the main shareholder of ATLASSIB, with a 90.2% share. Minority shareholders of CARPATICA Asig are TRANSCAR SRL Sibiu, with a share of 6.97%, Alin ALBU, with a stake of 0.53% and Corneliu TANASE, with 0.08%.
CARPATICA Asig began its activity in 1996 as ASA Asigurari Atlassib and activates only on the general insurance segment, with a share capital of RON 20.8 million. In 2009, the company reported a net profit of RON 22.21 million, after a year ago it had registered losses of RON 2.72 million, and an increase of the underwritings income of 125%, to a little less than RON 199 million.
