UNIQA Asigurari de Viata sold the first life insurance policy
UNIQA Asigurari de viata started its activity in the Romanian market by
selling its first life insurance product. The policy was sold within
an insurance package dedicated to a corporate client and offers the
specific protection of a life insurance, along with complementary
medical services.
" It is a group premium that symbolizes our entry in the market and it includes all our knowledge about the clients needs. An achievement, technically speaking, is the fact that we managed to include in the clients budget both the standard protection clauses as well as medical services", explained Liviu CHIRIC, UNIQA Asigurari de Viata President.
The company, controlled by UNIQA International, received it's operational license from the Insurance Supervisory Commission on the 8th of April 2010 when AGRAS Insurance changes it's name and became UNIQA Asigurari de Viata.
" Our intention was to enter the market in the 2008-2009, but the administrative and logistic procedures weren't quite finished. From out point of view the crisis is an opportunity and not a challenge and we will bring a slightly different approach from what the Romanian market is used to", UNIQA Asigurari de Viata President stressed.
A major problem in today's insurance market is the lack of trust among Romanians, which increased the resiliations for savings and investment products.
" Once we prospected the market, we've noticed a process we called "cannibalism": companies steeling each other's clients. We clearly noticed the lack of trust regarding life insurance products among people, simultaneously stimulated to a certain extent by the decline in the general insurance segment. I hope that, by the end of the year, once our potential customers trust will be gained, we will assist to a shift to individual clients of all players on the life insurance market", declared Liviu CHIRIC.
